the mass
For guidelines about the conferring of the sacrament, please refer to the Catechism of the Catholic Church here.
The readings from the Mass are here, I recommend candidates, sponsors and families reflect on the readings beforehand in order to make the most of the Mass.

- Programs and certificates will be in the pews. The Candidates' names will be on the envelope. To ensure you're in the right pew, we will also direct you as you come in. Any overflow will be in Sections 1 & 5.
- Candidate and sponsor will be seated on the left side of the pew.
- On Sunday, please arrive 30 minutes before. Candidates and sponsors should come to the Fellowship Hall. The bishop will most likely want to talk to the candidates ahead of time, and we will be lining up in there to process in. Families should proceed directly to the Church.
- Sponsors need to know the Confirmation name as they will be stating it to the bishop. Candidates will be wearing a name tag with his/her Confirmation name on it so the Bishop won't have to ask for it to be repeated.
- Dress appropriately for a sacramental Mass - no jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, or flip flops.
- This is a Sunday obligation Mass. We will be passing baskets for the offertory.
- The Bishop will be available after Mass in the Fellowship Hall to take pictures with your candidate and family. Please have your cameras ready and anyone who wants to be in the picture. We have 50+ families who will want to take pictures. I will be there to take a picture with your camera if you would like - I make NO guarantees how they turn out! 😉
- We will have a reception after the Mass in the Fellowship Hall.
- You may take pictures while the Bishop is conferring the sacrament on your child, but please do not get out of your pew and please be cognizant of others around you. Everyone wants the same thing. Please keep the reverence of the sacrament.
- Masks are optional and subject to parental preference.
- We will have the ceremony live-streamed by our wonderful volunteers! For those who will be at home watching, go on our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOdZ3NcvZs9_fuiVl7uFzlg.
